Located in Tallahassee, Florida, John Wesley is a church enthusiastic to welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences. Our worship services combine the traditional with the contemporary. We love children and youth and engage them in every aspect of our services.
We are passionate about mission work, from our close partnerships with our local schools -Hartsfield Elementary and Fairview MIddle School – to our collaboration with our sister church in Aguada, Cuba.
We emphasize discipleship, inviting our congregation to deepen their commitment to Christ with their prayer, gifts, service, and witness. Whether you are new to your spiritual journey or have spent your life in worship, we’re glad you’re here. We invite you to join us.
Our History
John Wesley United Methodist Church took root on April 3, 1960, founded by group of 122 people who began meeting in the crowded Hartsfield Elementary School cafeteria. Inspired to establish a new congregation to serve the recently built Indian Head Acres subdivision, the John Wesley United Methodist Church family centered itself around sharing Jesus’s message of love for all humanity.
